THE MOUNT FERGUS GAMES

The Clan Chief and his wife attended the Fergus Games and the Clan meeting the next day. Prior to the Tattoo on the Friday evening, they and the Clan Officer, Canada, attended a dinner with several special guests, who included the Minister of Defence for Canada, the Mayor of Fergus, and the General Manager of the Games. The civic dignitaries extended a most warm welcome to the Clan Chief and his wife.

The Clan Gathering was a great success and included not only a tour round the town in a special limousine, but also the Chief opening the Games and presenting the prizes to successful competitors.

In the Parade, Dr. Nadine Hunter and Catherine Hunter Elder carried a beautiful banner which had been especially embroidered. This was carried behind John Hunter, the Clan Officer, Canada, who on behalf of the Clan Chief carried the Clan Chiefs colours.

There was a meeting of Hunter Clan members in London, Ontario on the Sunday after the Games. This was most successful and a number of issues were raised, which have been mentioned in the Chiefs letter.

The Chief and his wife stayed at the Breadalbane Inn with Philip and Jean Cardinal who have since visited the Clan Chiefs mother-in-law, Lady Dill, in Wiltshire.
